US 41 (the Tamiami Trail) is Manatee County's deadliest road, killing 50 people in five years as it runs through the heart of Bradenton with heavy pedestrian and cross-traffic. Together with the parallel US 301 corridor it forms a notorious cluster of crashes through the city's core — the two highways carry most of Manatee's deadliest intersections between them. SR 70 and I-75 add large injury totals from sheer volume and speed, while SR 64 kills at a higher rate per crash (about 13 deaths per 100 serious crashes).
