We analyzed every fatal crash (from the federal FARS census) and every serious-injury crash (from Florida DOT data) in Osceola County; over the window studied, 252 people were killed and 2,606 seriously injured. The deadliest single corridor is US 192, the Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway that runs west through Kissimmee toward the Disney and Celebration area. US 192 is the spine of the county's danger — it is both the deadliest road and the corridor that carries most of the worst intersections. It combines heavy tourist and cross-traffic with high volume as it runs through Kissimmee. But it does not kill at the highest rate per crash. SR 60 kills at 35.7 deaths per 100 serious crashes and US 441 at 31.7 — rural, high-speed routes that are far deadlier per crash than the busy tourist arterials.
