I-95 towers over every other corridor, with 73 deaths — more than double the next-deadliest road. As the county's high-speed spine it concentrates both volume and severity. Okeechobee Boulevard, SR 80 (Southern Boulevard), Military Trail, and Jog Road are the suburban arterials that feed West Palm Beach, and several of them — Okeechobee Boulevard and Military Trail among them — turn nearly a third of their serious crashes fatal.

When and how crashes happen in West Palm Beach

Crashes in Palm Beach County peak late in the evening: the single deadliest hour is 9–10 p.m., and Saturday is the deadliest day of the week. About 55% of traffic deaths happen after dark. The county's age profile stands out — drivers and passengers 65 and older make up nearly a quarter (23%) of everyone killed, one of the highest shares in the state. Lane-departure crashes — running off the road or drifting into oncoming traffic — account for about 28% of deaths, and speeding is a factor in roughly 12%.
